Nominations – Deadline for Board, Committee, and Delegate Recommendations is this Sunday

Just a reminder that the deadline for submitting candidates for service on one of our conference boards or committees is approaching soon. If you haven’t already done so, please take the time today to go to our nominations page and submit names of both gifted clergy and lay leaders who you know would be a blessing to one of our conference boards and committees. We are so thankful for the amazing leadership that God has blessed our conference with, and we look forward to seeing what God will do this next year through our clergy and lay leaders who will be helping lead our conference.

Submissions are due by Sunday, March 6.

All names can be submitted electronically on our nominations page where you will find all of the position descriptions available in both English and Spanish.

Getting to Know Jon Sato

On February 7, the Superintendent Nominating Committee announced the nomination of Interim Superintendent Jon Sato for the position of Superintendent for the Free Methodist Church in Southern California (FMCSC). Voting to approve this nomination will begin on Monday, February 28.

Jon has been an elder with FMCSC for seven years and served since 2013 in multiple roles within our conference, most recently as Interim Superintendent since June 2021. We recently filmed an interview with Jon to give you an opportunity to get to know him better.

On February 7, we announced the nomination of Interim Superintendent Jon Sato for the position of Superintendent for the Free Methodist Church in Southern California. To ensure a maximum degree of transparency and engagement with this process, we are hosting a Town Hall Meeting next Tuesday at 7pm.

This Town Hall Meeting will be your opportunity to meet the members of the nominating committee, ask them your questions, and get to know Jon a little better. We’ll also spend time discussing how you can participate in the decision making process through voting in upcoming weeks.
