About History & Polity of the Free Methodist Church

This course will give a panoramic view of the history of the church and how it connects to the Methodist movement of which the Free Methodist Church is a part of. It will present a summary of the origin story of Methodism and the Wesleyan revival. It will explain the beliefs and practices of the Free Methodist Church so that every pastor, lay leader, and church member can understand our identity, vision, and mission as a denomination. The course will also deal with the form and system of administration and government of the FMC both at the denominational and congregational level. Particular emphasis will be placed on explaining how we can carry out the mission that God has entrusted to us in the context of the post-pandemic era and beyond. (2 credit hours, INTENSIVE COURSE)
