AC22 – Recognitions and Memorials

On May 14, 2022, we remembered the lives and ministries of leaders in the Free Methodist Church who have passed away since we last gathered in 2019. Additionally, we celebrated with our retiring pastors and prayed for those who are struggling with illness.

Annual Conference is an exciting time to celebrate what God is doing throughout the Free Methodist Church. This year, we remembered not only how God has been faithful, but also how our churches and leaders have continued to live out faithfulness in their communities and ministries.

AC22 – Recognizing Outgoing Superintendents

Within the Free Methodist Church, superintendents provide for vision alignment and implementation, leadership development, and guidance for the administration and growth of the church. To help facilitate the diverse needs of the Southern California conference, we have three superintendents who work together to fulfill these duties.

During the last Superintendent term, the Board of Administration chose to change from a three-person Superintendent group to a single-person model. On May 14, 2022, we recognized the service and leadership provided by Charles Latchison, Glen Prior, and Fraser Venter through their term and celebrated their new ministry direction.

This board provides oversight and leadership for The Management Group, a for-benefit corporation of the Free Methodist Church in Southern California that provides bookkeeping and administrative services for eligible ministries. As with all Free Methodist Church leadership, the board is composed of an equal number of ministerial and lay (non-ordained) leaders.
On May 14, 2022, Reverend John Rittenhouse presented the board report to our Annual Conference members.
