We are thrilled to announce a transformative partnership between the Free Methodist Church in Southern California (FMCSC) and Aldersgate School of Ministry (ASOM). This collaboration will provide comprehensive, high-quality education for those pursuing ordination within the Free Methodist Church.
Aldersgate School of Ministry will now be the primary provider for all ordination classes, offering a rich curriculum tailored to the needs of FMCSC leaders, including Local Ministerial Candidates (LMC) and Conference Ministerial Candidates working towards becoming Local Licensed Ministers (LLM) and Ordained Elders in the Free Methodist Church. The Free Methodist Ordination Track Certificate, offered through ASOM, will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to excel in your ministry and leadership roles.
Class Offerings
To accommodate diverse schedules and learning preferences, classes will be offered several times throughout the year:
English Cohorts Year 1
These classes are held online and include History and Polity of the Free Methodist Denomination and Wesleyan Theology
- July 1 through September 1
- September 9 through October 29
English Cohort Year 2
These classes are held as a hybrid model Pastoral Ministry class containing 6 in-person sessions and online work
In-person sessions will be held on the following dates:
- Sept 14, 2024
- Oct 12, 2024
- Nov 9, 2024
- Jan 11, 2025
- Feb 8, 2025
- March 8, 2025
Spanish Cohort
- Classes will be offered in Spanish during Spring 2025
