We are pleased to present the September 2024 report from our Board of Administration (BOA). This report, available in both English and Spanish, offers insights into the ongoing initiatives and decisions that are shaping the direction of our church.
September 2024 BOA Overview
Our recent Board meeting, held at the Avenue in Riverside, focused on important financial decisions, leadership and ministry transitions within the conference, and future planning. Key highlights include:
- Financial Support: The Board extended Rose City Church’s loan maturity to 2044 to provide financial flexibility, separated the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair roles, and streamlined the approval process for maintenance loans up to $250,000 for quicker response to church needs.
- Leadership Transitions: Soo Ji Alvarez was announced as Ministry Development Project Manager and Brian Warth is now Director of Church Planting. The Abbey transitioned to the Pacific Coast Japanese Conference.
- Future Planning: Annual Conference 2025 will be held at Centerpoint Church in Murrieta. The Board also formed a subcommittee to explore pastoral wholeness, focusing on supporting the holistic health of leaders in ministry.
We encourage you to review the full report for more detailed information on these and other important topics discussed during the meeting. Your continued engagement and support are vital to the growth and impact of our church community.

The Role of the BOA
The Board of Administration acts as the conference’s standing administrative committee between Annual Conference sessions. Their primary focus is to develop and manage policies for the entire conference within the constraints of the Book of Discipline. Comprising an equal number of ministerial and lay (non-ordained) leaders, the BOA ensures that we remain on a path of spiritual growth and community impact.
