Classes for Local Ministerial Candidates (LMCs)

 

History and Polity for Local Ministers

This course critically examines the origin, development, beliefs, practices, and government of the Free Methodist Church. Key topics include understanding the essence of a FREE Methodist and what distinguishes it from other denominations. The significance of John Wesley and other early church leaders to Free Methodist history will be explored, along with a breakdown of acronyms such as MAC, MEG, EPS, SCOD, BOB, pivotal in our church governance.

Wesleyan Theology for Local Ministers

Dive into the rich practical and theological vision of John Wesley and explore its evolution through the Wesleyan, Methodist, and Holiness movements. Understand their relevance in today’s theological landscape and practice. This course offers a detailed study of Wesley’s historical context, theological methodology, and the core doctrinal commitments central to our Wesleyan identity. Special focus will be given to the contemporary application of Wesleyan theology in today’s ministry contexts.

Aldersgate School of Ministry

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Aldersgate School of Ministry with classes commencing on September 11. Catering to individuals from various denominations, Aldersgate offers a choice of a 1-year or 2-year certificate, leading to a Lay Ministry certificate. This also covers prerequisites for ordination or eligibility for master’s study in seminary. For those keen on specific subjects, there’s the flexibility to enroll in individual courses.
