FAITH INTEGRATION MAJOR EVENTS 2007-08
- Sept. 27th and Oct 1st: Opening of the Institute for Faith Integration
(Speaker: Dr. Alan Padgett, Luther Seminary)
Karen has offered to buy, for attending HGST students and pastors, the book on this topic that Alan Padgett wrote: Science and Theology.
- Nov. 15th: Evangelical Voices on Science & Culture
(Speakers: Dr. James K.A. Smith, Calvin College; Dr. Amos Yong, Regent University; Dr. F. LeRon Shults, Agder University; Dr. Thomas Jay Oord, Northwest Nazarene University; Dr. Craig A. Boyd, Azusa Pacific University)
"The most important cultural institution in the modern and post-modern world is that of “science.” Evangelical Christians in all theological traditions have had a tumultuous relationship with science over the past 100 years but have rarely engaged it as a cultural phenomenon. These 5 voices on the topic come together for an evening of dialogue, discussion, and proposals for thinking through one of the most important of issues facing the Church today."
- Feb. 7th-9th: C.S. Lewis Symposium: C.S. Lewis and the Inklings
(Speakers: Dr. Thomas Shippey, St. Louis University & Dr. Diana Glyer, Azusa
Pacific University)
